The National Bank of Oman (NBO) and Ooredoo Fintech have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership aimed at advancing digital financial services and payment solutions across Oman.
The signing ceremony was held at NBO’s Head Office in Muscat, marking the beginning of a joint effort to develop a comprehensive digital wallet ecosystem.
The initiative aligns with Oman Vision 2040, supporting the Sultanate’s digital transformation agenda and fostering innovation in a diversified, technology-driven financial sector.
Under the MoU, both parties will explore collaboration across multiple key areas, including:
Development of a digital wallet ecosystem
Enhanced payment services and settlement arrangements
Support for banking and financial infrastructure
Joint initiatives in digital financial services
Other mutually agreed financial technology projects
The agreement establishes a high-level framework for cooperation, while specific terms and initiatives will be defined through subsequent agreements, ensuring practical implementation and measurable impact.
