The Nasser Centre for Science and Technology’s (NCST) research and development signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi digital solutions company, Elm, in order to explore collaboration in AI-driven smart services.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Abdulla bin Naser Al Noaimi, CEO of HH Shaikh Nasser AI Research and Development Centre, and Hakeem Al Rasheed, Director of International Business at Elm Company, during the LEAP 2025 tech conference in Riyadh.
The partnership aims to develop and launch innovative digital solutions using advanced AI technologies, accelerating digital transformation across sectors.
Dr. Al Noaimi said in a statement that the collaboration is a strategic step to strengthen regional AI research and development, foster knowledge exchange, and enhance technical capabilities. He emphasized the shared goal of advancing digital innovation and supporting regional digital transformation efforts.
Bahrain is increasingly embracing AI-driven smart services to enhance various sectors, including healthcare, education, transportation, and government services. These innovations leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and provide more personalized experiences for citizens and businesses.
The partnership highlights the center’s role in AI research and development, positioning the region as a hub for digital innovation through global collaborations. Furthermore, the MoU is expected to drive innovation, improve cybersecurity measures, and support the development of secure digital ecosystems.
Earlier this year, Elm and Saudi PIF signed a share sale and purchase agreement for Elm to acquire Thiqah Business Services Company, a firm specializing in smart technology solutions for business services, in a deal valued at $907 million (SAR 3.4 billion).
