Nutritious lifestyle for a healthier life

The National Nutrition Week 2020 is being celebrated around the world from September 1 to September 7 with the theme of ‘Eating right, bite by bite.’ This year’s initiative is about spreading knowledge about nutrition and the importance of having nutritious food in our daily life.

The idea of health and nutrition has gained much more attention, especially in the COVID-19 scenario because due to the lack of nutritious food in our diet. A sudden change in lifestyle and a healthy diet may not be effective in the people. Foods such as fat-free, protein-but-carbon so on make it difficult to understand the proper nutrition and diet for the body and also needed to address food awareness as well.

Diseases, malnutrition and stunted growth are the common symptoms seen in a person consuming less nutritious food. However, when surveys were conducted on cases of malnutrition and stunted growth, they revealed that the nutrition level improved significantly over the past decade.

The need for nutritious food

Working from home, convenient access to food is one of the main contributing factors to illnesses, attributable to sedentary workplaces. Nutrition is the need of the hour for treating diseases such as obesity, diabetes and the risk of heart failure. Exercising may not be the first preference for most when it comes to switching to a healthier lifestyle. Many limitations like medical conditions, lack of time and equipment unavailability are factors that put people off exercising.

Eating is nevertheless a regular part of everybody’s life that can’t be missed or replaced by anything else. To get a healthy lifestyle, it is important to have a proper food diet by putting some dedication, motivation and discipline. Before getting into the path of healthy food, there is something to be kept in mind.

Balanced Diet

A balanced diet is key for acquiring a nutritious lifestyle. A balanced diet consists of all the proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals the body needs.

Water is important

Nowadays, the people replaced water and using energy drinks, coffee and processed juices instead, which is most important for the body. This results in us eating more calories. For a healthy diet, almost 2 – 4 liters of water is mandated. It helps to cool the body temperature and eliminate toxins and aids weight loss. When combined with a healthy diet minimal in processed foods, this can lead to a healthier life.

Weight loss

Through a balanced diet, weight loss can be achieved easily. Since eating in this way automatically leads to the required protein intake and omega 3 acids, this will lead to better weight control, satisfaction and better immunity.

Nuts, fruits and vegetables are important

Fruits and vegetables are the most important sources of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Nuts which are are rich in magnesium, vitamin E, fiber, along with other nutrients help in losing weight and assist in fighting type 2 diabetes, heart disease and so on.

Herbs and spices in the diet

The herbs and spices have various health benefits. By incorporating ginger and turmeric in the diet as they can potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects which are essential for our body and boost immunity. Like this, each natural products have their own advantages which are beneficiary for human health.

Along with these tips, it is crucial to lead a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly and staying physically active without smoking or alcohol.
