Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), represented by the Commercial Franchise Centre and in cooperation with the Development Bank, has launched a new financing product called ‘Alama’ to support franchise businesses.
The launch ceremony was held under the auspices of Faisal Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and was attended by senior officials, business leaders, and representatives from the franchise and SME sectors.
The ‘Alama’ product emerged as the result of a strategic agreement signed by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), represented by the Commercial Franchise Centre, in collaboration with the Development Bank.
This agreement was formalized on the sidelines of the Omani-Saudi Franchise Exhibition, which was organized by the OCCI in partnership with the Federation of Saudi Chambers in 2025, with the primary aim of providing robust financial support to project owners seeking to obtain the rights to operate a commercial franchise.
The launch of ‘Alama’ underscores ongoing efforts to foster entrepreneurship across the Sultanate of Oman, offering a significant opportunity for owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to successfully enter and thrive in the franchise sector.
Furthermore, this initiative seeks to reduce the risk of project failure by backing ventures with commercially-proven and sustainable business models. The product offers flexible financing solutions tailored specifically to meet the diverse requirements of franchise businesses.
Additionally, the ‘Alama’ product strengthens institutional collaboration between the Development Bank and the OCCI, reinforcing their shared objective of supporting economic diversification and growth in alignment with the long-term goals of Oman Vision 2040.
