Qatar Chamber (QC) and Cyprus have discussed strengthening trade and investment cooperation between the two nations.

HE Eng. Ali bin Abdullatif Al Misnad, Board Member of Qatar Chamber, received George Partasides, Energy and Commercial Counsellor for the GCC Region in the Republic of Cyprus.

During the meeting, Partasides said that Qatar and Cyprus enjoy strong relations, stressing the Cypriot side’s interest in developing economic cooperation with Qatar across all sectors, especially in energy, electricity production, and infrastructure.

The Counsellor pointed out that there is a possibility of opening a Cyprus Trade Office in Qatar, whose mission would be to link Cypriot and Qatari companies, promote Cypriot companies, products, and investments in the Qatari market, and enhance cooperation between the Cypriot and Qatari private sectors.

Furthermore, Partasides added that Cyprus looks forward to seeing more Cypriot companies operating in Qatar across various sectors and emphasised the interest in establishing a Qatari Cypriot Business Council to strengthen connectivity between business owners on both sides.

For his part, HE Eng. Ali Al Misnad said that Qatar Chamber welcomes the idea of establishing a Cyprus Trade Office in Qatar, which would contribute to enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

The QC Board Member pointed out that Qatar enjoys a strategic location, world-class infrastructure, a sustainable and robust economy, an advanced business environment, and an attractive investment climate, in addition to numerous investment opportunities, business-friendly legislation, and investment and tax incentives and facilities

Eng. Al Misnad noted that the presence of such an office in Qatar would help increase mutual investments and boost import and export activities between the two sides, stressing that Qatar is considered an ideal hub for global expansion and growth.
