The Qatar Chamber and a delegation from the International Women’s Federation of Russia, led by Alfia Amirova, President of the Federation, have explored ways to enhance cooperation between businesswomen in Qatar and Russia.

The meeting focused on strengthening the cooperation between the two sides in the tourism and medical tourism sectors, aimed at supporting female entrepreneurs and developing a cutting-edge electronic platform for communication and training.

Additionally, they reviewed successful trade and investment projects in Qatar and Russia, and explored setting up a joint trade and business center.

The delegation from Russia was received by Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani, Member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Chamber and Chairperson of the Qatari Businesswomen Forum, in the presence of Noura Al Awlan, Director of the Research and Studies Department at the Qatar Chamber.

Al Ahmadani stated that there are many opportunities for cooperation between the two sides across various sectors. The Chamber looks forward to meaningful partnerships with the Russian International Women’s Federation, which will support businesswomen and develop their capabilities at the local and international levels.

Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani also highlighted that the ‘Qatari Businesswomen Forum’ is committed to supporting and enhancing communication and cooperation between Qatari and Russian businesswomen. Women’s economic empowerment is a crucial driver of sustainable development, expressing pride in the achievements made by Qatari women across various sectors.

Furthermore, Al Ahmadani underscored the possibility of conducting a forum for Qatari and Russian businesswomen in Qatar to explore cooperation and investment opportunities available in each area.

Alfia Amirova stressed the country’s interest in exporting halal Russian food and agricultural products to Qatar, emphasizing the union’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Qatari businesswomen across various fields, particularly in the tourism, food security, and trade sectors.

The president also pointed the possibility of launching a Qatari center in Moscow to promote Qatari products in Russia. Also invited Qatari businesswomen to take part in the “By Women’s Hands” exhibition, which is set to hold in Moscow from November 18-19 of this year and will showcase products made by women for women.

Alfia Amirova also reviewed the proposal for an electronic platform to exchange information and expertise between businesswomen from both countries, aimed at unlocking investment opportunities available in both countries.

The International Women’s Federation seeks to support businesswomen and owners of small and medium-sized enterprises, enhance communication and exchange of expertise, explore various business ideas and projects, expand trade relations, and promote goods and services produced by the organization’s members in markets, including regional and international ones.
