Saudi Arabia’s Public Transport Authority (PTA) has launched new initiative to localize the offices of freight brokers in the Kingdom.

This launch is in cooperation with the Saudi Logistics Academy and all the concerned authorities from the public and private sectors.

The initiative aims to support competitive Saudi citizens by creating opportunities in various transport activities and services, especially in the offices of freight brokers.

A freight broker is an intermediary between a shipper and a freight service provider. Freight brokers can specialize in certain types of freight, such as equipment hauling on lowboys, oversize, bulk tanker, auto, or other types of freight transportation.

According to the statement, the initiative also aims to develop the services and upgrade their quality, as well as improve the skills of Saudi professionals in their role as freight forwarders.

The localization initiative targets to help companies by understanding their human resource requirements to play the role of freight forwarder and develop their performance and capabilities according to the training path that meets the needs of the labor market in this field.

“The initiative includes five-day training for Saudi staff in the offices of freight brokers, and they can avail it by filling a google form,” as per the statement.

Last month, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Mr. Ahmed Al Rajhi issued an order to Saudize all professions in the consulting sector. The decision targets all professions in the sector, including a Financial advisory specialist, business adviser, cybersecurity advisory specialist, project management manager, project management engineer, and project management specialist.
