Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture has launched a new awareness campaign to introduce the Saudi Good Agricultural Practices (Saudi G.A.P.) program.

This initiative is part of the Saudi Arabia Ministry’s ongoing efforts to boost the sustainability of the country’s agricultural sector, improve food quality and safety, and align with the broader goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The campaign aims to educate local producers about the benefits of adopting best agricultural practices to enhance productivity and meet international standards.

The campaign is part of a comprehensive set of initiatives by the Ministry to support local products, promote sustainable agriculture, and build consumer confidence. It aims to add value to the agricultural sector while fostering the adoption of sustainable farming practices throughout the Kingdom.

According to the statement, the campaign highlights the importance of adopting Saudi Good Agricultural Practices at all stages of agricultural production and their role in ensuring food safety, preserving natural resources, and improving the efficiency of farming operations. It also supports farmers and technicians by developing their skills to strengthen the sustainability of the Kingdom’s food security system.

The Saudi Arabia ministry noted that the Saudi G.A.P. program comprises a set of national technical standards applied to agricultural production to ensure food safety and sustainability, protect the environment, and optimize the use of natural resources.

The program supports the organization of farm management, the implementation of pest control and agricultural risk management measures, the protection of workers’ health and rights, and the development of marketing channels for local products, thereby boosting their competitiveness both locally and internationally.
