The Saudi Arabia Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has launched the IoT Landscape Map, a comprehensive framework designed to showcase Internet of Things (IoT) service providers in the Kingdom and accelerate the development of Saudi Arabia’s digital economy.
The newly released map aims to raise awareness about the diversity of IoT services available in Saudi Arabia while creating greater visibility for companies operating within the sector.
By identifying and classifying service providers within a structured framework, CST seeks to attract global investment, stimulate local innovation, and strengthen the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving technology ecosystem.
According to CST, the map provides a detailed overview of the IoT market in Saudi Arabia, categorizing service providers across several key segments.
These include IoT connectivity, IoT platforms, IoT solutions, IoT devices, and IoT systems integration, offering stakeholders a clear view of the different components that make up the national IoT landscape.
The initiative reflects the significant growth of the IoT sector in the Kingdom and the increasing adoption of smart technologies across multiple industries.
The IoT Landscape Map is also integrated with several related regulatory and research resources, including the IoT Regulations and the framework governing the provision of IoT Virtual Network Operator (IoT-VNO) services.
In addition, the platform connects users to a number of supporting studies and guidance materials, such as the Guidelines for IoT and a comprehensive survey examining the demand for IoT technologies across the Kingdom.
By showcasing the diversity of IoT applications and solutions in sectors ranging from smart cities and transportation to energy and healthcare, the map provides valuable insights for government entities, private sector companies, investors, and technology experts.
CST noted that the initiative forms part of its broader strategy to regulate and stimulate the growth of the IoT market while fostering a modern technology ecosystem in Saudi Arabia.
