The Digital Government Authority (DGA) of Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the World Bank Group, has been organizing an international workshop titled ‘Empowering Progress: A Transformative Collaboration on Cloud Innovation’.

The workshop, with the participation of several government agencies, will take place from April 6 to 10, at the World Bank Group headquarters in Washington, DC, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s growing global presence in leading digital transformation.

The workshop organized by the DGA aims to showcase the latest global trends in cloud computing and reinforce its role as a key enabler of digital transformation. It will also highlight Saudi Arabia’s experience as a leading model in leveraging digital technologies to enhance government efficiency and improve service quality.

The event is expected to bring together government agencies and international experts to discuss strategic themes, including the role of cloud computing in driving innovation, enhancing government integration, and accelerating the adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence. It will also feature practical use cases and real-world experiences in this field.

This workshop at World Bank Headquarters builds on Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its position among leading countries in digital government and to expand its presence on international platforms by sharing expertise and exchanging knowledge with global partners.

These efforts are supported by Saudi Arabia’s achievements in digital transformation and cloud computing, including ranking second globally in the GovTech Maturity Index (GTMI) 2025, issued by the World Bank, among 197 countries worldwide.

Cloud adoption in government services exceeded 43 percent in 2025, compared to 14 percent in 2022, following a steady growth trajectory targeting 50 percent in 2026 and 80 percent by 2030. Government spending on cloud services reached approximately $745 million (SAR 2.8 billion), while the Digital Transformation Measurement Index for government agencies rose to 88.30 percent in 2025. Additionally, the Emerging Technologies Adoption Readiness Index exceeded 74 percent in the same year.
