The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has strengthened its technological presence in the Makkah Route Initiative in Côte d’Ivoire by deploying an advanced digital system at Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport.

The system is designed to enhance service efficiency and ensure pilgrims benefit from smoother, more streamlined operations from the moment they depart their home country.

According to the statement, “Pilgrims’ procedures are conducted through an integrated digital system that includes personal data verification, biometric registration, and electronic issuance of Hajj permits, ensuring smooth execution, faster processing, and reduced waiting times.”

SDAIA also contributed to developing and operating the initiative’s technical infrastructure, as well as connecting participating entities through a unified platform that ensures accurate, seamless data flow, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and supporting real-time decision-making.

The digital integration has enabled advanced smart services, including baggage coding and the electronic linking of luggage to pilgrims’ accommodation in the Kingdom, allowing direct delivery without the need for collection upon arrival.

This integration represents one of the most prominent applications of data and artificial intelligence in serving pilgrims by providing a seamless experience centered on service quality and operational efficiency.

As per the reports, “The Ministry of Interior implements the initiative in its eighth year in cooperation with the ministries of foreign affairs, health, Hajj and Umrah, and media; the General Authority of Civil Aviation; the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority; SDAIA; the General Authority for Awqaf; the Pilgrim Experience Program; and the General Directorate of Passports, in integration with the digital partner stc Group. Since its launch in 2017, the initiative has served 1,254,994 pilgrims.”
