The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has launched a technical sandbox for the national platform Tawakkalna, marking a key step in its expansion strategy.

The initiative is now open to applications from the first group of private sector companies, enabling them to test and integrate innovative services within the platform’s ecosystem.

According to the statement, “Applications will be evaluated based on specific criteria and controls designed to ensure the delivery of secure, integrated digital services that foster innovation and strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors.”

The initiative aims to strengthen Tawakkalna’s position as a unified national platform by enabling seamless integration between government agencies and private sector entities through a flexible, secure, and regulated framework.

By providing a controlled technical environment, the sandbox allows private companies to test and pilot their digital services with real users, ensuring compliance, performance, and security standards before full-scale deployment.

This move reflects the growing interest from the private sector in leveraging Tawakkalna’s infrastructure to deliver innovative digital solutions across various sectors. It also underscores SDAIA’s commitment to fostering public-private collaboration and accelerating the development of the Kingdom’s digital economy, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Through the sandbox, private sector companies gain access to over 34 million users, enabling them to assess service quality, ensure alignment with user experience standards, and promote innovation. This initiative expands the impact of public-private partnerships by facilitating the introduction of high-quality, user-focused digital services.
