The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has won two Certificates of Excellence at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes 2026, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, recognizing the Kingdom’s national initiatives in data and artificial intelligence (AI).

The awards recognize SDAIA’s contributions to advancing data and AI adoption in line with global best practices and reinforce Saudi Arabia’s position as a leader in digital transformation.

SDAIA’s Open Data Platform recognized

SDAIA received its first Certificate of Excellence for the Open Data Platform in the Access to Information and Knowledge category.

The platform was recognized for expanding access to government data, enhancing transparency, fostering innovation, and enabling researchers, entrepreneurs and public and private entities to leverage open data in developing digital services and solutions.

National AI Index earns global recognition

The authority also secured a second Certificate of Excellence for the National Artificial Intelligence Index (NAII) in the Enabling Environment category.

The award recognizes the index’s role in measuring organizational readiness, promoting AI adoption, supporting informed decision-making, and contributing to the development of an integrated national ecosystem driven by data and innovation, strengthening Saudi Arabia’s competitiveness in the AI sector.

The latest achievement builds on SDAIA’s growing record of regional and international recognition and reflects Saudi Arabia’s leadership in data and artificial intelligence.

It also underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to developing innovative digital solutions that support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 while strengthening its position as a global leader in harnessing advanced technologies for sustainable development and societal advancement.
