SDAIA showcases KSA’s AI governance model at 29th UN Session

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) participated in the 29th session of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development, held in Geneva from April 20 to 24.

Under the theme ‘Science, Technology, and Innovation in the Age of AI,’ the session gathered global representatives from governments, international organizations, and the private sector.

During the summit, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority showcased the Saudi model for regulating and advancing the AI sector, emphasizing the Kingdom’s role as a leader in data governance.

The presentation highlighted the Kingdom’s proactive efforts in creating a robust framework for the development of reliable, ethical AI systems, positioning Saudi Arabia at the forefront of global AI innovation and ensuring its technologies align with international standards and regulations.

SDAIA emphasized Saudi Arabia’s active role in shaping international governance frameworks and its commitment to utilizing AI to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030.

Coinciding with the Year of AI 2026, Saudi Arabia’s participation further strengthens its position as a global hub for emerging technologies, showcasing its commitment to advancing artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge innovations. This initiative underscores the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to lead in the AI space and attract global attention to its growing technological ecosystem.

According to the statement, “By sharing national expertise and fostering international collaboration, SDAIA plays a pivotal role in promoting the adoption of responsible AI practices. This aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to build an integrated national system powered by data and innovation, positioning the Kingdom as a global leader in the ethical development and application of artificial intelligence.”
