Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi has directed to allocate $2.72 million towards the procurement of the latest literature distributed by various publishing houses participating in the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF).

The move is in line with Sheikh Al Qasimi’s constant support to the publishing industries while enriching the public and governmental libraries in Sharjah with the latest intellectual and scientific publications in Arabic and other languages.

The much appreciated and generous gesture by Sharjah’s ruler comes as much-needed support towards supporting the book publishing industry which was affected adversely by the pandemic.

It is also expected to provide more up to date references and insights to those who seek knowledge and information in the universities and libraries of the emirate.

“This annual support of H.H. also cements the status of the emirate of Sharjah, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, as a beacon of culture that embraces cultural initiatives regionally and internationally,” the SBA Chairman replied.
