The Ombudsman for the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain (Ombuds Office), in cooperation with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), has launched a new electronic grievance submission service through the National Portal, allowing citizens and residents to submit, track and manage grievances online as part of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s digital transformation strategy.

The new service is designed to simplify grievance procedures, expand access to the Ombuds Office’s services and ensure the confidentiality and security of users’ information through a secure digital platform.

Available via the National Portal, the service enables users to submit grievances electronically and monitor their progress using the Kingdom’s eKey authentication system or by logging in with a username and password. Users can also check the status of their grievances and receive the latest updates on their cases without the need to visit the office in person.

The initiative forms part of Bahrain’s broader efforts to enhance government digital services and improve the delivery of public services by expanding the Ombuds Office’s electronic offerings. It is also intended to provide a more efficient, accessible and user-friendly experience for citizens and residents seeking to file grievances.

Ghada Hameed Habib, Secretary General of the Ombuds Office, said the launch of the electronic grievance submission service represents an important milestone in expanding the office’s portfolio of digital services and reflects its ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality and accessibility of services provided to the public.

Habib stated that the service has been developed in line with high standards of reliability, privacy and information security to protect users’ data while ensuring a secure digital experience. She added that the new platform will also improve operational efficiency by accelerating grievance processing, reducing administrative procedures and supporting accurate, professional and transparent handling of cases.

The electronic grievance submission service underscores the Ombuds Office’s continued efforts to leverage digital technology to strengthen public engagement, improve service delivery and support the Kingdom of Bahrain’s vision for a modern, digitally enabled government.
