Silal, Abu Dhabi’s agri-food and technology company, has expanded operations in Ras Al Khaimah with the National Agricultural Center, advancing its commitment to the UAE’s agricultural ecosystem and national food security.
The first phase of the initiative will begin in the Al Hamraniyah area of Ras Al Khaimah on 9 March, where Silal will commence operations with local farms.
The collaboration aims to enhance agricultural production, empower farmers to improve productivity, and enable more efficient marketing of Emirati agricultural products.
Under the partnership, Silal and the National Agricultural Center will establish an integrated support framework for farmers, encompassing:
Technical assistance and guidance on best agricultural practices
Oversight of post-harvest handling
Marketing and distribution support to strengthen competitiveness in local markets
A dedicated crop collection center will also be established to facilitate the receipt, distribution, and marketing of agricultural produce, forming part of a broader system designed to enhance supply chain efficiency, support the sustainability of the agricultural sector, and contribute to the UAE’s national food security objectives.
