Space42, the UAE-based AI-powered SpaceTech company with global reach, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Autonomous A2Z, South Korea’s leading autonomous driving company, to establish an Abu Dhabi-based joint venture aimed at deploying and commercializing Level-4 autonomous driving solutions across the Middle East and Africa.
Announced at GITEX Global 2025, the collaboration marks a significant milestone toward localizing advanced autonomous capabilities and fostering a sustainable smart-mobility ecosystem within the nation.
The joint venture will anchor a national ecosystem for autonomous mobility innovation, development, and commercialization, in support of the Smart Autonomous Systems Council’s mission.
Through intelligent fleet integration and the development of skilled expertise, the joint venture aims to deliver significant benefits for businesses and cities, including improved operational efficiency, enhanced safety, and greater sustainability. Its practical capabilities, designed to support scalable global deployment, align closely with the UAE’s vision for a resilient and innovation-driven economy. Together, these initiatives will help transition the nation from pilot autonomous mobility programs to fully operational, sustainable, and scalable technologies.
Building on a previous partnership between Space42 and Autonomous A2Z, this new venture reflects Space42’s broader commitment to growing the UAE’s smart-mobility ecosystem. Recently, Space42 launched the Sovereign Mobility Cloud, an AI-powered infrastructure platform that supports advanced mapping, fleet operations, and traffic management. The company has also partnered with Dynamic Map Platform and General Motors to further enhance autonomous-driving systems. These efforts collectively position Space42 as a key player in advancing smart autonomous transport solutions across the region.
