The Omani-Tanzanian Business Forum has featured discussions on strengthening economic cooperation and expanding commercial ties between Oman and Tanzania through closer engagement between the private sectors of both countries.

Participants reviewed export and import procedures, explored potential business partnerships, and examined ways to facilitate bilateral trade.

The forum was held on the sidelines of the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (SABA SABA 2026). It was organized by the OPEX team, responsible for promoting Omani products, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the United Republic of Tanzania.

As part of the program, OPEX explored opportunities to identify marketing channels, agents, and distributors for Omani products in Tanzania and neighboring markets with the objective of expanding Omani exports.

Saud bin Hilal Al Shidhani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Republic of Tanzania, said that the event was organized to strengthen direct engagement between business communities and identify new partnership and investment opportunities.

Al Shidhani added that the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair provides an important platform for introducing Omani products to Tanzania and the wider African market.

Farid Msenwa, Permanent Secretary for Investment at the Office of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, noted that the event enabled companies from both countries to exchange information, examine investment opportunities, and establish new business relationships.

Ambassador Johnny Olanga, Director of the Economic Diplomacy Department at Tanzania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, emphasized that the business meetings provided an opportunity to discuss exports, investment, and potential commercial collaborations.

Abdul Abubakar Mwelima, Vice President of the Tanzania National Chamber of Commerce for Industry, underscored that the participation of 20 Omani companies created opportunities to explore cooperation in manufacturing, plastics, agriculture, and the food industry.

The presentations outlined the country’s industrial infrastructure, investment incentives, one-stop-shop services, and other facilities available to investors.

The program also included business-to-business meetings between Omani and Tanzanian companies to discuss agency agreements, distribution networks, and market access.
