UAE and Central African Republic discuss bilateral relations

UAE and the Central African Republic (CAR) have discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, with a focus on the economy, trade, investment, renewable energy, infrastructure, and other key development priorities.

The conversation took place via phone between His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Excellency Faustin-Archange Touadéra, President of the Central African Republic.

The two leaders also discussed shared interests and how best to advance the objectives of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement signed by the UAE and the Central African Republic earlier this month.

In this regard, they reaffirmed their commitment to deepening ties between the two countries in ways that benefit their people and support sustainable economic growth and development. The call also covered several regional and international issues of mutual interest, with both sides exchanging views on recent developments.

The UAE is actively investing in Africa, including the CAR, with a focus on sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, and energy. The UAE’s investment strategies are aimed at improving economic growth and providing support to emerging markets in Africa.

Earlier this month, both leaders discussed ways to bolster bilateral relations and expand cooperation, particularly in economic, trade, and investment sectors, as well as renewable energy, infrastructure, and other key development areas that serve the shared interests of both nations.

The UAE President reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to fostering development partnerships with African nations to promote a more prosperous and sustainable future.

According to the statement, both sides expressed their shared commitment to advancing cooperation between the UAE and the Central African Republic in a way that benefits both countries, drives sustainable economic growth, and fulfils their aspirations for the future.
