The session reviewed the overall cooperation related to supporting tourist guides, focusing on assisting Emirati tourist guides, and consolidating their role in promoting the tourism sector in the UAE.

During the discussion, Al Falasi stressed the importance of coordinating joint efforts and taking advantage of the opportunities available to build promising prospects and new possibilities that will inspire people to start successful careers as tour guides and become the country’s true ambassadors, underlining the rich cultural, touristic and heritage potential of the UAE.

He also stated the significance of the ministry-association relationship by indicating that it will encourage the Emiratis to become tourist guides, one of the main jobs driving tourism growth.

He further mentioned the 33 initiatives promoting and ensuring the growth of domestic tourism, as well as supporting economic sectors in the face of emerging challenges, coinciding with the country’s preparations for the next 50 years.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum said that tourism is one of the fastest-growing sectors and helps to boost countries’ economies and infrastructures. The main objective of the association is to highlight the key role of tour guides in general and Emirati tour guides in promoting the country in particular and to encourage people to participate in this area, he further added.

At the end of the meeting, the ministry and the association have agreed to hold frequent joint meetings to monitor the latest developments in the promotion of tourist guides and their achievements.
