Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and Group CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), has met JD Vance, US Vice President, at the White House for high-level discussions focused on energy security and bilateral cooperation.
The meeting highlighted the enduring strength of relations between the United Arab Emirates and the United States, particularly at a time of heightened geopolitical and energy market uncertainty.
Dr. Al Jaber conveyed greetings from the UAE leadership and reaffirmed the depth of the strategic partnership spanning multiple sectors.
Energy security at the core
A central theme of the discussions was the critical role of energy security in maintaining global stability.
Both leaders underscored the principle that energy security is intrinsically linked to global economic and geopolitical security, particularly as markets remain sensitive to regional disruptions.
Dr. Al Jaber emphasized the importance of ensuring uninterrupted maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital chokepoint for global oil supplies.
The Minister noted that restoring and safeguarding free passage through the strait is essential for stabilizing international energy markets and ensuring reliable supply chains.
Beyond energy, the meeting reinforced the breadth of UAE–US cooperation across key domains, including security, trade, investment, technology, healthcare, and education.
The two countries acknowledged the importance of continued collaboration to address evolving global challenges while fostering sustainable economic growth.
Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber commented that, “It was good to reconnect with Vice President Vance at this critical moment. We discussed the fact that energy security equals global security and that restoring free passage through the Strait of Hormuz is the only durable solution to stabilizing global markets. We also underscored the strength of UAE–US relations across key sectors, including security, trade, investment, technology, energy, healthcare, and education.”
This engagement reflects a shared commitment to strengthening economic ties and advancing joint initiatives, particularly in sectors critical to future resilience and innovation.
The high-level dialogue underscores the UAE’s role as a key global energy supplier and a strategic partner to the United States.
The visit further signals ongoing alignment between the UAE and the US on critical global issues, reinforcing a partnership that continues to play a significant role in shaping the future of energy and economic cooperation.
