The World Defense Show (WDS) has signed a contract with Airports Cluster 2 Company for the operation of the exhibition’s airport in Riyadh’s Malham.

The contract aims to ensure the smooth operation of the airport and achieve high levels of fire protection in accordance with approved international standards. The services for aviation apron management will be provided, and aircraft guidance vehicles will be secured under the contract.

Cluster 2 Company CEO, Eng. Ali Masrahi stated that the contract represents a significant step in enhancing cooperation between Cluster 2 and WDS and strengthening their joint efforts towards further accomplishments.

The airport is one of the most important features of WDS as it contributes to enhancing the experience of visitors and exhibitors and facilitates the direct arrival of international aircraft designated for the displays.

The second edition of WDS is being held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and it is being organized by the General Authority for Military Industries from February 4 to 8, 2024.

According to the statement, the show serves as a pioneering event in the defense and security industry, aligning with the aspirations of the Saudi leadership to organize a globally renowned specialized exhibition that stands among the best defense and security exhibitions worldwide.

Furthermore, the show reflects the leadership’s vision for the Kingdom to become a global host for exhibitions, in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to localize 50 percent of government spending on military equipment and services.
