Al Ain Farms Group (AAFG), a UAE food and beverage manufacturer, has committed to reducing added sugars by 10–20 percent across its brands, including Al Ain Farms and Marmum Dairy, as part of its nutrition and public health strategy.
The reformulation initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi’s Healthy Living Strategy, a multi-stakeholder program involving government and private sector partners aimed at improving dietary habits and supporting system-level changes that encourage healthier food choices.
The initiative is among 28 strategic programs under implementation designed to enhance the nutritional profile of commonly consumed food and beverage products in the UAE while maintaining quality, taste, and consumer trust.
The commitment was formalized in collaboration with Healthy Living and the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC), reflecting a coordinated public-private approach to improving food standards and advancing preventive health objectives across the sector.
Focus on nutritional reformulation
AAFG said that the initiative represents a groupwide effort to enhance the nutritional composition of its dairy and beverage portfolio through product reformulation and innovation.
The company stated that the program will be implemented across its existing product range, alongside the introduction of new healthier options.
The initiative also builds on previous efforts, including reduced-sugar beverage offerings, and forms part of AAFG’s wider strategy to improve product nutrition without compromising taste or quality.

HE Dr. Ahmed AlKhazraji, Executive Director of Healthy Living, emphasized that the initiative supports efforts to make healthier food options more accessible and to encourage improved dietary habits across the population. AlKhazraji noted that reformulation efforts by food manufacturers play a key role in strengthening the broader healthy food environment.
HE Eng Abdulla Hassan Al Muaini, Executive Director of the Central Testing Laboratory at the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, highlighted that the collaboration supports shared objectives to ensure product quality while enabling consumers to make informed nutritional choices.
Hassan Safi, Group CEO of Al Ain Farms Group, underscored that the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to improving the nutritional profile of its products while maintaining consumer expectations for taste and quality.
Safi added that AAFG is focusing on combining product innovation with reformulation across its portfolio, including dairy and juice products, as part of a broader strategy to advance responsible food manufacturing practices in the UAE.
As part of its expansion into healthier product offerings, AAFG launched a new health-focused product range in April 2026.
The company will also proceed with the reformulation of existing products, including flavored milk, yogurt, and laban under both Al Ain Farms and Marmum Dairy brands.
The updated products are expected to be introduced to the market ahead of the Back-to-School season in September 2026.
The initiative reflects ongoing collaboration between government entities and private sector partners to improve food environments and promote healthier consumption patterns, particularly among children and youth.
