Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport (AUH), has coordinated with the Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Center-Abu Dhabi (ADCMC), to resume limited flight operations following a recent period of disruption.

The move reflects the resilience and coordinated response of Abu Dhabi’s wider ecosystem, highlighting the strong collaboration between authorities, aviation partners and service providers to safely restore essential air travel services and support affected passengers.

Efforts over the past few days were carried out under strict coordination on safety protocols and through close cross-sector collaboration to ensure comprehensive support for affected passengers.

As part of this unified response, more than 4,300 complimentary hotel rooms were provided across 74 hotels to accommodate approximately 7,000 passengers, ensuring those impacted by flight scheduling changes were able to rest comfortably during the disruption.

Joint efforts with relevant authorities across the emirate also helped establish a seamless support network, which included shuttle transportation, refreshments, hospitality services, medical assistance and retail vouchers to safeguard passenger wellbeing and convenience throughout the transition period.

Abu Dhabi Airports reaffirmed that the wellbeing of its guests and staff remains its highest priority. Passengers holding confirmed tickets are advised to contact their respective airlines for the latest flight schedules and are urged to travel to the airport only after receiving specific guidance on when to arrive at AUH for departure.

Regional security concerns led to the temporary closure of UAE airspace and the suspension of flights across several airports beginning February 28, 2026. The phased reopening of airports across the UAE is now being viewed as an initial step toward gradually restoring full aviation services and normal flight operations.
