Abu Dhabi’s entry and exit restrictions extended by 1 week 

Abu Dhabi has extended the restrictions it placed earlier to forbid travel between different areas of the emirate including entry and exit in the region by a week.

Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Committee for the COVID-19‬ Pandemic, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police and DoH, has declared that the Abu Dhabi movement ban (put in place last week) will be extended by one week, starting from Tuesday 9th June.

The ban includes movements between Abu Dhabi’s regions (Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra) as well as in and out of the emirate. It implies to all Abu Dhabi residents, including UAE Nationals.

Exceptions can be availed by special permit for workers in vital sectors, chronic disease patients visiting hospitals, and the transportation of necessary goods. Movement within each region is permitted in line with National Sterilisation Programme hours.

This action intends to improve the effectiveness of the expanded National Screening Programme, among a series of precautionary and preventative measures being taken to lessen contact, check the spread of COVID-19, and preserve the health and safety of all community members.
