Abu Dhabi’s Hub71 finds a new guide in Hanan Harhar Al Yafei

Hanan Harhar Al Yafei, a seasoned human resource professional, will take over as the new CEO of Hub71, the tech accelerator based in Abu Dhabi.

Ibrahim Ajami has been serving as the interim CEO of Hub71 since its launch in 2019. He is the head of business at Mubadala. Ms. Al Yafei will be taking over from him and will start this month.

The newly appointed Hub71 CEO has been a part of the Mubadala Investment Company and has held the position of executive director of human capital in the alternative investments and infrastructure platform.

The Abu Dhabi Media Office tweeted that the decision “strengthens the UAE capital’s position as a global hub for innovation. Hub71 was launched as part of Ghadan21 and is now home to over 50 global start-ups”.

At Mubadala, she has also functioned as the Head of Human Capital at the Advanced Technology Investment Company and Director of Talent Management and Learning

Hub71 was jointly set up by the Mubadala Investment Company, Abu Dhabi government, Softbank, the Abu Dhabi Global Market and Microsoft in March 2019. It has, to date, raised over $139 million.
