The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has reaffirmed its role as a strategic partner in driving economic and social progress across Arab nations, delivering high impact projects that promote regional stability, sustainable growth, and improved quality of life.

According to its 2024 Annual Report, ADFD’s cumulative global development financing has reached $58.95 billion (AED 216.5 billion), benefiting 107 countries. This includes $42.75 billion (AED 157 billion) in concessional loans, $15.7 billion (AED 57.6 billion) in government grants, and $517.75 million (AED 1.9 billion) in direct contributions.

In 2024, ADFD managed six UAE government grants to Arab countries totaling $220.52 million (AED 810 million), directed toward strategic sectors in Jordan, Morocco, Yemen, and Mauritania.

Jordan received over $123.09 million (AED 452 million) for three initiatives: a national digital health transformation program, general budget support, and a reading skills development project. Morocco was allocated $35.14 million (AED 129 million) for the expansion of the Oued Akrach–Ain Aouda Road.

Yemen was granted $12.3 million (AED 45 million) for a solar power project in Socotra, while Mauritania received $50.07 million (AED 184 million) to establish a new Applied Sciences College.

Among the key achievements is Jordan’s newly launched ‘Jordan Digital Health Centre’, which is transforming the healthcare system by linking hospitals and clinics through a unified digital platform. The first phase connected five remote hospitals and three health centers, significantly improving healthcare delivery and remote services.

The fund continues to oversee UAE government aid under the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND). From 2012 to 2024, $1.25 billion (AED 4.6 billion) was allocated each to Jordan and Morocco for essential development projects. Bahrain, under the GCC Development Program, received $2.5 billion (AED 9.2 billion) for infrastructure and sectoral upgrades.

In 2025, ADFD maintained its momentum by implementing major investments in tourism and infrastructure, including Egypt’s ‘Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza’, a tourism development in Salalah, Oman, and the Bahrain International Airport expansion.

Beyond the Arab region, ADFD has supported solar energy projects in the Comoros, housing in Somaliland, and, in June, signed a financing agreement with the GCC Interconnection Authority to enhance regional energy security.

Through its focus on sustainable, high-value development, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development continues to embody the UAE’s commitment to advancing prosperity and long-term stability across the Arab world and beyond.
