Global Gas Services Company has inaugurated a new air gases production plant at Al Rusayl Industrial City, marking a key addition to Oman’s industrial landscape.

The facility, built on a total area of 20,000 square metres with an investment of $10.4 million (RO 4 million), is designed to meet growing domestic demand and support the Sultanate’s industrial and medical gases supply chain.

By producing key air gases locally, the project supports Oman’s drive to increase local content, reduce dependence on imports, and ensure steady supplies for critical sectors.

The plant has a daily production capacity of 173 tons of oxygen, nitrogen, and argon, gases that are essential for a wide range of industrial, energy, and healthcare applications.

The inauguration of the plant comes in line with national efforts to strengthen the industrial gases sector and expand supporting industries within Al Rusayl Industrial City. The facility is seen as a qualitative addition that will help meet growing demand from local industries while also opening opportunities for regional exports.

Jamal Said Al Ojaili, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Global Gas Services Company, said that the plant was established to support both health and industrial security in the Sultanate. He explained that oxygen, nitrogen, and argon are vital for hospitals, oil and gas operations, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects.

Al Ojaili noted that the company aims to achieve self-sufficiency in industrial and medical gases, ensure supply stability across the market, and export surplus production when available. He also revealed that the Global Gas Services Company has secured a contract to supply gases to Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).

The agreement reflects the confidence placed in the company’s capabilities and its adherence to high standards of quality and professionalism. The project further strengthens cooperation between the public and private sectors, supporting Oman’s broader economic diversification goals.
