King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held discussions on strengthening bilateral relations between their two countries.
The leaders explored opportunities to enhance cooperation across various sectors and addressed the latest regional developments.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi condemned the Iranian attacks on Bahrain and reiterated India’s strong rejection of any actions that threaten peace and security in the region.
PM Modi affirmed India’s full support for Bahrain’s security and stability and highlighted India’s continued contributions to efforts ensuring the safety of maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
For his part, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to actively participating in international efforts to secure maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. The King emphasized that Bahrain will work to enhance maritime security and ensure the uninterrupted flow of global trade in the region.
Both sides also emphasized the critical importance of putting an end to Iranian threats to the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial international waterway that plays a vital role in global energy supplies and international trade.
The King of Bahrain and the Indian Prime Minister also underscored that the protection of these maritime routes is not only a responsibility of the countries directly involved, but a shared international duty.
Both leaders agreed that ensuring the security and stability of international navigation is essential to safeguarding the interests of the global community and maintaining the flow of goods and energy essential for economic stability worldwide.
