Bahrain International Airport (BIA) operator and managing body, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has held discussions with Israel-based Malca-Amit, the leading valuable goods shipping, and logistics company, to set up a warehouse at BIA Express Air Cargo Village.

The discussion on the design and operation of a warehouse took place on the sidelines of the Israeli Prime Minister Mr. Naftali Bennett’s Bahrain visit. The project is in line with the strategic plans to develop the airport’s cargo area in support of a comprehensive strategy to transform Bahrain’s logistics and air freight sectors into one of Bahrain’s key industries.

BIA’s 25,000 square meter Express Air Cargo Village is a sophisticated logistics platform that provides a one-stop-shop for express cargo operators, each of which will have its premises within the facility. The new expected warehouse project will enable BIA to handle larger volumes of cargo more efficiently, better catering to the express cargo customers’ needs and creating new job opportunities.

The Malca-Amit provides the valuable goods industry, high-net-worth individuals, and international banks with a global team of experts, including logistics, security, customs, and special operations professionals, and helps maximize the global capabilities of companies through the safe and express delivery of valuable goods to end-to-end logistics.

Recently, the Bahrain Institute of Pearls and Gemstones (Danat) had signed an MoU with Malca-Amit to cooperate in the field of transporting and storing luxury goods, on the sidelines of the Israeli Prime Minister’s visit.
