Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Bahrain’s Minister of Tourism, has met with representatives of the Kingdom’s hotel sector to review preparations for upcoming summer tourism events and seasons, and strengthen cooperation with industry stakeholders.
The meeting, attended by Sarah Ahmed Buhejji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance public-private sector collaboration and support tourism sector growth.
Minister Al Sairafi stated that Bahrain’s tourism infrastructure, combined with the services and hospitality experiences offered by hotels and resorts, plays a key role in attracting visitors seeking high-quality accommodation and diverse travel experiences.
She noted that the variety of hotel offerings helps meet the needs of different visitor segments and strengthens Bahrain’s position as a tourism destination capable of catering to a wide range of preferences and expectations.
Hotel diversity supports tourism competitiveness
Minister Al Sairafi said that the diversity of accommodation options enhances the competitiveness of Bahrain’s tourism sector and contributes to delivering experiences that meet the interests of visitors from different markets.
She added that partnership with the hotel sector remains a key pillar in supporting tourism growth and achieving the objectives of the Tourism Sector Strategy 2022–2026.
The minister also stressed the importance of continued coordination among stakeholders to deliver an integrated tourism experience that reinforces Bahrain’s position as a preferred destination for travel and accommodation.
Summer tourism initiatives and campaigns
The meeting reviewed recent developments in the tourism sector and explored opportunities to expand cooperation to enhance visitor experiences and strengthen Bahrain’s presence on the regional and international tourism map.

Participants also discussed the ‘Walahna Alaikum‘ campaign and the summer promotional campaign targeting visitors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, alongside upcoming events and programs included in Bahrain’s tourism calendar.
Joint packages proposed for Gulf visitors
Discussions also focused on proposals to develop integrated summer tourism packages through partnerships between hotels and tourism sector stakeholders.
The proposed initiatives include collaboration with shopping malls, event management companies and tourism establishments to offer packages combining accommodation, entertainment, shopping and other tourism experiences.
The proposals aim to enhance Bahrain’s competitiveness as a preferred destination for Gulf families, while meeting visitor expectations and supporting summer tourism activities.
