China’s WenChao Group to build F&B factory at Dubai industrial City

China’s WenChao Group has announced that it will invest over $200 million to construct WenChao Logistics Hub, a food manufacturing and distribution facility in Dubai Industrial City.

The signing of the new agreement took place during the company’s participation at the Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (GMIS). The first phase of the facility, which will include an integrated warehouse, distribution center, food processing and manufacturing factory for half-cooked and braised food, is set to open in the first half of 2022.

WenChao’s biggest facility will be more than 950,000 square-foot, with cutting-edge equipments capable of a food production turnover of up to $136 million annually.

Founded in Dubai in 2006, WenChao Group has a diverse portfolio which also includes a retail group that integrates eCommerce logistics, the chain hypermarket ‘Wemart’. The organization has also founded a number of Food and Beverages (F&B) brands, including YaoYi Tea and Tasty Yue, and has a global trade network covering nearly 20 countries.

WenChao Group also owns the WenChao Green Farm in Dubai’s Nazwa desert region where it grows approximately 50 varieties of vegetables across 80,000 square feet. The company aims to expand its footprints into vertical farming in 2023. The second growth phase will see the construction of a 4 million sq. ft vertical farm set for completion in 2025.
