Dr. Abdulla Taleb, Chairman of the Council for Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions (CRPEP), has announced that the council’s operations are now fully digital.
As part of this transformation, all applications can now be submitted online via the newly launched Licensee Portal, accessible through the updated CRPEP website.
According to the statement, this marks a significant milestone achievement in the Automation Project undertaken by the Council in line with the strategic directions of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr. Taleb stated that the work on the Council’s ERP Project commenced in 2023 with the signing of the contract with Al Amthal Group. By February 2024, the CRPEP manual records for entities and their engineers were digitized, and the licensing processes for engineers were also automated through the backend of the ERP system. The Accounting System and HRMS were also commissioned in parallel to support the automation of the Engineers Licensing processes.
Subsequent modules of the ERP Project were sequentially rolled out, and the system achieved commercial operation in early July 2025, after completing the various contractual formalities.
Hasan Al Sheikh, CEO of CRPEP, noted that the total transformation of CRPEP’s operations from fully manual to a fully digital system demonstrates a paradigm shift in the work culture of CRPEP within a very short time frame and has led to highly improved efficiency in meeting its clients’ requirements.
“The Council has successfully transformed it into a paperless environment by virtue of digitized workflows and an automated response system for clients’ applications. An additional achievement under the ERP System is the launching of the new state-of-the-art and bilingual website to establish a real-time digital CRM interface with the engineering entities and engineers in the Kingdom,” the CRPEP CEO said.
Al Sheikh further added that he was expecting all the Entities to register themselves within the Licensee Portal to experience a seamless transaction in all their license applications. CRPEP has recently issued a circular to this effect and also intends to hold familiarization workshops in the coming period.
