The Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) has launched its ‘Saudi Domain’ campaign to encourage individuals and organizations to register Saudi domain names and strengthen digital identity across the Kingdom.

Saudi CST said that the campaign is intended to increase awareness among government entities, private sector companies, and individuals about the role of Saudi domain names in enhancing digital presence, credibility, and reliability in the online environment.

The commission added that the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s communications and technology ecosystem.

CST stated that Saudi domain names are supported by a reliable infrastructure that includes more than 300 distributed name servers, making it one of the largest infrastructures of its kind globally in line with international standards and best practices.

The authority noted that the infrastructure is designed to ensure stability, efficiency, and secure access to digital services and content.

The commission also reaffirmed its regulatory and supervisory role over the registration of Saudi domain names. CST said it continues to oversee the registration process through licensed registrars to protect registrants’ rights and improve the quality of services provided in the sector.

The campaign targets government institutions, private sector entities, and individual users. It explained that businesses and individuals can register Saudi domain names through licensed registrars, while government entities can complete domain registration procedures through the Digital Government Authority.

CST noted that domain names are a key component of the Domain Name System (DNS), which is considered one of the most important parts of global internet infrastructure. The DNS enables users to access websites, digital services, applications, and online content through identifiable web addresses.

The initiative reflects its role of CST in supporting the development of Saudi Arabia’s digital environment through regulatory and guidance frameworks aimed at enhancing the reliability and credibility of national digital resources.
