Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) has renewed its financial support to the Dubai Schools project for the second consecutive year, contributing $2.99 million (AED 11 million) for the 2025–2026 academic year.
The announcement was made by the Knowledge Fund Establishment (KFE), which leads the initiative aimed at enhancing access to quality education for eligible students in Dubai. This renewed collaboration highlights DIB’s continued commitment to supporting national development priorities, positioning education as a cornerstone of inclusive and sustainable growth.
The Dubai Schools initiative aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the Education Strategy 2033, aiming to create a learner-centric ecosystem that fosters lifelong learning and equips students with essential future skills. The financial contribution reinforces Dubai’s strategy to deliver future-ready education through strong private sector engagement.
“We thank Dubai Islamic Bank for their renewed commitment towards supporting the development of an ideal learning environment in Dubai Schools. The renewal of support from DIB reflects the strength of the partnerships built by KFE with the private sector and confirms that investing in education is no longer optional but a national necessity. Our institution operates based on a clear vision that places education at the core of socio-economic development, and this initiative represents a pivotal step towards establishing a sustainable model that ensures continuous support for deserving students.”
Obaid Al Shamsi, Chief Operating Officer at DIB, highlighted the bank’s alignment with the national education agenda, stating that education remains a core element of DIB’s strategy to support the country’s sustainable development goals. He noted that the bank’s continued involvement in the Dubai Schools initiative reflects its long-term commitment to advancing national growth through accessible, high-quality education.
Launched in March 2021 by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the Dubai Schools project opened its first two campuses in Mirdif and Al Barsha in September 2021. A third school followed in Nad Al Sheba in 2022.
By 2024, a fourth school opened in Al Khawaneej, and the Al Barsha branch expanded, increasing capacity across the project to over 8,500 seats. The long-term plan is to raise total student capacity to 15,000 by the 2032–2033 academic year.
KFE emphasized that private sector contributions are instrumental in sustaining and scaling the Dubai Schools project, ensuring more eligible students gain access to affordable, high-quality education in an inclusive and future-oriented environment.
