UAE-based ALEC has launched a new subsidiary, ALEC Data Centre Solutions, to capitalize on its strengths in construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), logistics, fitout, and technology integration, as well as to meet the growing demand for regional data centers.

The company will offer clients prefabricated data centers for quick deployments within the region, in addition to designing, building, and commissioning turn-key data centers that satisfy the highest international standards. It will also be the first in the region to focus on liquid immersion solutions, which will result in data centers that are more sustainable, flexible, and cost-effective.

ALEC Data Centre Solutions will also open its flagship experience center in the coming weeks, where clients and prospects will be able to see the company’s solutions firsthand and talk with experts about their specific needs.

The UAE has experienced rapid growth in demand for local data centers, fueled by the wave of digital transformation as well as concerns about data sovereignty and security. The country is one of the Middle East’s top data center hubs, with over $1,015 million in investment expected by 2026, indicating a CAGR of 7.99 percent between 2021 and 2026.

However, apart from a few large organizations, conceptualizing, building, and commissioning data centers has been a challenge for most enterprises in the region.

“Until now, cost, expertise, logistics, customizability, and scalability have all presented formidable challenges to regional organizations looking to establish their own data centers, hampering their ability to innovate at pace and scale. With our entry into the rapidly advancing data center space, ALEC is set to fill the void for a single, large-scale specialist organization that can offer the entire gamut of data center development services.”

ALEC Data Center Solutions will focus on three primary lines of business, traditional data center construction solutions, prefabricated solutions, and modernization and retrofit solutions. Furthermore, the company will have the ability to offer Liquid immersion solutions within all these sectors.

The company will be able to offer rapid, scalable, edge-type operations across multiple or remote sites in the region with its prefabricated data centerline, which will be manufactured at its dedicated facility in Dubai. This line of business will give businesses a future-proof, end-to-end solution for scaling their data center footprints as their computing needs change.

Furthermore, through its partnership with Submer, a leading innovator in advanced immersion cooling solutions for Cloud and Edge computing, ALEC Data Centre Solutions is primed to set new benchmarks in data center energy efficiency with solutions that help save 50 percent on CAPEX building costs, up to 95 percent on cooling expenses, and more than 90 percent water usage for cooling purposes.
