The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has placed youth at the core of its mission to position Saudi Arabia as a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI).
SDAIA’s focus on youth is rooted in the strategic vision of the Saudi leadership, which emphasizes the importance of human capital in shaping the nation’s future. As part of this approach, SDAIA is providing comprehensive support to enable young Saudis to become effective contributors to society and leaders in advanced technologies.
In line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of SDAIA’s Board of Directors, the authority has created pathways for Saudi talent to pursue studies in data science and AI at top global universities.
Since its inception in 2019, the authority has been empowering young men and women with the skills necessary to drive innovation in data and AI, aligning with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals. This initiative aims to equip young Saudis with the expertise needed to leverage AI for the benefit of the Kingdom and contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
SDAIA’s investment in both male and female youth has unlocked a wealth of national potential, inspiring creativity and innovation in AI-related projects. Through a range of local and international training programs, SDAIA ensures that Saudi youth acquire essential skills in data science and AI. These programs are conducted in collaboration with global experts and institutions, both within Saudi Arabia and abroad.
Over 840,000 trainees have benefited from SDAIA’s programs till date, with many of them being young Saudis. The flagship ‘One Million Saudis in Artificial Intelligence’ initiative, in partnership with Microsoft, has already seen over 472,000 registrations, offering AI training and certification.
SDAIA is also setting professional standards in AI and designing educational frameworks to build the next generation of AI leaders. These efforts are not only enhancing Saudi Arabia’s expertise in AI but are also reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a global leader in technology and innovation.
As SDAIA continues to develop national AI expertise, it remains focused on ensuring that young Saudis are equipped to lead the future of technology, contributing to a prosperous and digitally advanced Saudi Arabia.
