Though the pandemic almost took away this pleasure from us, drive-in cinemas have been springing back in the UAE lately, offering a safe cinema experience.

Vox Cinemas Drive-in Dubai

Vox Cinemas Drive-in DubaiThe latest drive-in cinema in Dubai, Vox Cinemas Drive-In has been an immediate success since its opening in the Mall of Emirates in May. Catch your favorite movies at 7:30 every evening. What’s more, it is carbon-neutral, taking away your guilt about the impact your pleasure can have on the environment.

The Vox Cinemas is carbon neutral because the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (DCCE) has calculated the carbon emission of each car during a standard screening. Vox, in turn, offsets the emissions for each car in attendance by purchasing carbon credits from DCCE.

Location: The car park under Ski Dubai slope in the third level of Mall of the Emirates.

Munch on: Savour a range of snacks and beverages, including popcorn, nachos, M&Ms and Pepsi that are available along with the ticket price.

Reel Drive-in Cinema, Dubai Mall

Enjoy your movie at one of the biggest malls in the world with the picturesque Burj Khalifa in the background.

Location: Dubai Mall Zabeel

Munch on: Enjoy cheese popcorn, one salt popcorn, a ‘regular nachos’, two chocolates, two soft drinks and two water bottles that are available along with the ticket price. If you are still hungry, you can always get more from the Reel Cinemas’ food carts available in plenty at the venue.

Reel Drive-in Cinema, Dubai Hills Estate

Take your little ones and have a hearty laugh with them at this drive-in Cinema that screens kid-friendly movies like Minions, Dolittle, Spider-Man Homecoming, The Secret Life of Pets 2 and How to Train Your Dragon Hidden World.

Location: Open space between Central Park and Mulberry 2 at the Dubai Hills Estate.

Aljada Drive-in Cinema, Madar

The drive-in cinema at Madar functions on a first come first serve basis and is absolutely free. In a space that can hold up to 150 cars at a time, they offer movies like Mamma Mia, Spiderman, 2 Fast 2 Furious. On Friday, 10th July they are screening Frozen 2.

Location: Madar, Aljada

Munch on: Get ready to be spoilt for choices with 17 different outlets at the Zad food district, serving up popcorn, burgers, sushi and even vegan snacks. Visit the outlets before your movie or get them delivered to you at your car the safe way.

Yas Drive-in Cinema

The first drive-in cinema at Abu Dhabi will welcome you from tomorrow. Catch movies on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8 p.m every week. The current movie line-up includes Mad Max Fury Road, Joker, Crazy Rich Asians among many.
