Dubai Chambers has welcomed Trevor Jones, Ontario Minister of Agriculture, and his accompanying delegation for high-level discussions aimed at strengthening trade and promoting investment opportunities between Dubai and the Canadian province of Ontario.
The discussion focused on growing trade and investment ties in food tech and agribusiness, and supporting businesses from both sides expand into the respective markets.
Both sides explored avenues to facilitate greater market access for Ontario’s agri-food products in Dubai and the wider Middle East, while also encouraging Canadian investment into Dubai’s economy.
The visiting delegation was welcomed by HE Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, and HE Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers. The discussions focused on strengthening trade and investment ties in food technology and agribusiness, as well as supporting businesses from both sides in expanding into their respective markets.
Non-oil trade between Dubai and Canada reached $2.78 billion (AED 10.2 billion) in 2024, underscoring the expanding commercial relationship.
During 2025, a total of 1,042 new Canadian companies joined the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, bringing the total number of active Canadian member companies to 4,673 by year’s end, reflecting continued strong business engagement.

In 2025, Dubai International Chamber has opened a representative office in Toronto to attract more Canadian firms to Dubai and to support Emirati companies seeking to expand into the Canadian market.
The discussions at Ontario aim to serve as a strategic platform connecting businesses on both sides, fostering investment flows, and opening new channels for bilateral trade.
