Dubai Chambers has discussed opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the food and agricultural sectors with Ontario, Canada, during a meeting in Toronto with Trevor Jones, Ontario’s Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness.
The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in food trade, agritech and food technology, reflecting growing economic ties between Dubai and Canada. As Canada’s largest provincial economy, Ontario is considered a key partner for expanding cooperation, supporting business growth and boosting mutual investment.
The meeting was attended by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, and Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers.
During the meeting, Dubai Chambers highlighted the emirate’s competitive advantages for Canadian businesses, including its strategic location, advanced infrastructure, investor-friendly business environment and position as a gateway to markets across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
The delegation also underscored opportunities offered by Dubai’s future-focused economy across a wide range of sectors for international investors and companies.
The visit comes as trade between Dubai and Canada continues to gain momentum. Non-oil trade between the two markets reached $3.43 billion (AED12.6 billion) in 2025, marking a 23.2 percent increase compared to 2024.
The visit forms part of Dubai Chambers’ international missions under the ‘Growth Corridors’ initiative, which aims to expand trade and investment cooperation with high-potential global markets. The initiative seeks to strengthen business connectivity, support strategic partnerships, launch joint projects and enhance sectoral integration.
HE Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori Chairman – Dubai Chambers
“Dubai and Canada are building a strong economic partnership shaped by shared interests and a common vision for future growth. As the global economy continues to evolve at pace, it is increasingly important to broaden cooperation between our business communities and explore new opportunities in high-value sectors. We are focused on deepening business ties with Canada in a way that supports trade and investment flows, opens wider opportunities for companies, and reinforces the foundations of a long-term economic partnership that delivers mutual benefit.”
In June 2025, Dubai International Chamber, one of the three chambers operating under Dubai Chambers, opened its first North American representative office in Toronto. The office supports businesses in both markets by strengthening engagement with public and private sector stakeholders, promoting Dubai as a global business hub and assisting Canadian companies seeking to establish operations in the emirate and expand into international markets.
The program also reflects Dubai Chambers’ commitment to adapting to global economic developments, regulatory changes and evolving investment trends, while supporting Dubai-based companies in entering new markets and scaling their international operations.
