Dubai South, the region’s largest single urban master development, will leverage Huawei technology to build a connected community capable of supporting modern services for the future of transportation and mobility.

Dubai South intends to develop a fully linked, high-bandwidth, low-latency private network for massive machine interactions based on Huawei technology in order to establish the smart transportation system. Huawei, a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, will also help build an integrated operations center for centralized monitoring and control of operations, traffic, security, and other services.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on the sidelines of Dubai Airshow by Mr. Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation Corporation and Dubai South, and Mr. Jerry Liu, CEO, Huawei UAE. The alliance will facilitate sustainable communications infrastructure, data management, transportation, operations, security and other related services at Dubai South.

We are certain that our valued partners and customers will benefit from cutting-edge infrastructure through which they can offer bespoke services to their clients.”

Moreover, for operational purposes, Dubai South and Huawei will explore collaboration on an AI-enabled platform for stakeholders, including aviation, logistics, education and training, leisure and hospitality, and other sectors. To safeguard digital transformation projects, the two entities will also promote unified global cybersecurity standards.

Mr. Liu said that “Huawei’s solutions already power some of the most prominent airport projects in the UAE. This partnership is yet another milestone in the pipeline of Huawei solutions that help develop regional economies through the latest digital technologies, underpinned by strong cybersecurity design that can address hot-button, board-level concerns, such as ransomware.”

Huawei is committed in supporting different sectors such as the government, transport, real estate, education, healthcare and hospitality to drive digital transformation and reduce their overall IT spend, and by offering extensive solutions for large scale infrastructure projects, it pushes UAE closer to embracing a fully connected, intelligent world.
