Dubai Chamber of Commerce has been awarded the prestigious ‘Plan to Action: Year of Sustainability Seal’ in recognition of its efforts to promote sustainability and support the UAE’s vision for a sustainable future through ESG Label initiative.
The award acknowledges the Chamber’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Label initiative, launched in 2023 by the Centre for Responsible Business. The ESG Label aims to help organizations assess their readiness for adopting ESG standards while recognizing those that contribute to sustainable growth.
The initiative encourages businesses to implement practices that benefit society, the environment, and promote good governance. It also supports the adoption of ESG practices across the region by recognizing the efforts of organizations striving to make a positive impact.
Organizations that have been established for at least two years are eligible to apply for the ESG Label. Successful applicants benefit from alignment with global ESG best practices, an enhanced reputation, and greater appeal to potential investors. The program includes benchmarking ESG practices against regional and global standards and provides feedback on areas for improvement. Participants also receive a maturity score based on their overall ESG performance.
The development of the ESG label involved a comprehensive assessment by internationally recognized experts. The framework considers both regional and global regulatory landscapes, helping organizations align with local and international ESG label reporting standards. Input from the business community also shaped the framework, ensuring its relevance and effectiveness.
With ESG label emerging as a strategic priority for businesses of all sizes, many organizations are now integrating sustainability goals into their core operations. This includes adopting transparent reporting standards, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing social responsibility initiatives while ensuring that governance practices align with ethical principles.
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce’s Centre for Responsible Business continues to lead efforts to foster responsible and sustainable business practices in the emirate. By providing tools, resources, and expertise, the Centre supports companies in embedding governance, sustainability, and social responsibility throughout their operations, helping them improve performance and boost competitiveness in an increasingly ESG-conscious market.
