Emirates NBD, a leading banking group in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT) region, has launched Voice Banking with Amazon Alexa.

Customers can enable the Emirates NBD banking service on their Alexa App, which is available on both the UAE iOS App and the Google Play Store, and use conversational language to access details of their recent Emirates NBD account and credit card transactions, as well as listen to market briefings, from any Amazon Alexa-enabled device. This service will now also be available in Arabic.

The latest service is part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to offer value-added banking services and utilizes application program interfaces (APIs) built in line with established open banking standards, allowing the exchange of financial data between banks and third-party providers such as Amazon while adhering to strict security and privacy guidelines for users.

Emirates NBD Group serves customers, businesses, governments and institutions with a range of financial products and services including retail banking, corporate and institutional banking, Islamic banking, investment banking, private banking, asset management, global markets and treasury, and brokerage operations.

Recently, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) started offering its services on Alexa, with which the customers can check their monthly bills in Arabic, details of electricity and water consumption, their carbon footprint, as well as connect their DEWA account to other Amazon accounts, making it the world’s first government authority to leverage Alexa in its operations.
