UAE national air carrier Emirates will open one of its lounges in Terminal 3 Concourse B of the Dubai International Airport to welcome its First Class, Business Class and other Emirates Skywards members from 1st July. The service will be available from 10 AM and will follow strict precautionary measures.

The customers can also access the Chauffeur’s Drive Service of the airline from tomorrow. Comprehensive safety has been put into place to ensure less contact and risk of infection.

The customers entering the lounge have to move through the biometric gates to reduce contact. Its seating capacity has been reduced and more space has been allotted between each seat ensuring social distance. Wearing masks is mandatory within the lounge.

The lounge will be sanitized and fumigated at the end of each day. Also, chairs and tables will be well sanitized after each customer leaves. Further, the employee at the lounge will wear PPE kits for safety.

Food will be served in sealed boxes packed hygienically instead of the buffet system practiced earlier. Complimentary drinks will be served only in single-serve bottles and shared bottle drinks will not be available.

In the complimentary Chauffeur’s Drive Service too, strict measures will be taken to ensure the safety of the customers and employees. The cars will be sanitized at the end of each trip with special care given to high touchpoints including door handles and customer baggage handles. The drivers will be tested beforehand and will wear masks and gloves. The passenger number is restricted to 3 per car while larger vehicles to accommodate 4 members can be availed on request.

Emirates has also introduced Cabin Service Assistant (CSA) in flights over 1.5 hours to ensure regular sanitization of the lavatory. The cabin crew will also wear PPE kits.

The airline is planning to reopen more of its lounges across the world in the coming days.

Dubai Airport also has put extensive safety measures in place.
