Emirates SkyCargo has introduced the Boeing 777-300ERSF passenger-to-freighter converted aircraft, becoming the first airline cargo operator to deploy this aircraft type.

The aircraft (A6-EBK) will enter commercial service on a flight from Hong Kong to Dubai, carrying more than 100 tonnes of cargo.

The Boeing 777-300ERSF has a payload capacity of 100 tonnes and a cargo volume of 811 cubic meters. This represents a 25 percent increase in cargo volume compared with the Boeing 777F production freighter.

The aircraft has 47 pallet positions, which is 10 more than the Boeing 777F production freighter, allowing higher capacity for volumetric cargo, including e-commerce shipments.

E-commerce accounts for around 20 percent of global air cargo volume, with further growth expected in the coming years.

“The induction of the first converted Emirates Boeing 777-300ERSF into operational service represents the next step in the expansion of our fleet and operational agility. We are optimizing our fleet assets by converting older Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft to meet the growing demand for air cargo capacity to transport goods rapidly across the world. Combined with our growing fleet of Boeing 777-F production freighters, we have already been able to scale our global freighter network from just over 40 destinations in February this year to 62 destinations currently and growing.”

The Boeing 777-300ERSF is the sixth freighter added to the Emirates SkyCargo fleet since March 2026, following five Boeing 777F production freighters.

Emirates SkyCargo plans to receive five additional Boeing 777F aircraft and one additional Boeing 777-300ERSF by December 2026. It also plans to add three more converted Boeing 777-300ERSF aircraft in 2027.
