The Qatari Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the General Authority of Customs (GAC) have announced the digital auctioning of over 100 lots of goods via the ‘Mazad Al Jomrok’ platform.
The auction, which runs until 3 July 2025, aims to offer citizens and businesses an easy, transparent, and secure way to participate in government auctions. The ‘Mazad Al Jomrok’ platform, developed under MCIT’s TASMU Smart Qatar Program, seeks to digitize and streamline the customs auction process.
The Mazad Al Jomrok platform provides users with the ability to explore listings, place bids, and complete transactions all within a secure digital environment.
MCIT has played a key role in creating the platform to accelerate Qatar’s digital agenda and enhance government services. The platform automates the entire auction process, from product evaluation to payment processing, improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and increasing the frequency of auctions.
By enhancing the transparency and accessibility of these auctions, it also aims to broaden public participation, benefitting both the government and the community. Dana Al Muftah, Head of Smart Applications at MCIT, highlighted the platform’s role in optimizing government processes while empowering users.
Head of the ‘Mazad Al Jomrok’ platform at GAC, Abdulrahman Ahmed Al Obaidly, emphasized the platform’s role in improving transparency and operational efficiency and said that, “It allows us to execute our mandate more effectively while offering fair access to customs auctions for a wider audience.”
The platform is fully integrated with national systems such as warehouse management tools and the Al Nadeeb Clearance System, ensuring a seamless user experience. Participants can access the platform through its website or mobile app, available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
To register, users must log in via the National Authentication System (NAS) with a valid Qatar ID. This initiative supports Qatar’s broader vision for operational excellence, aligning with the goals of the Digital Agenda 2030 to enhance government services and foster a digitally empowered economy.
