The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has launched the Flight Operations Centralized Unified System (F.O.C.U.S.), a comprehensive digital platform designed to simplify, streamline, and centralize how both foreign and national air operators engage with various aviation stakeholders and regulatory bodies across the UAE.
F.O.C.U.S. serves as a unified digital gateway that facilitates the process of obtaining operational approvals for access to UAE airports. The platform consolidates essential information and provides direct links to key aviation entities across the country, enabling air operators to manage regulatory requirements efficiently through a single, centralized website.
The initial rollout of the F.O.C.U.S. system has been successfully implemented, marking the first step in the platform’s phased development. Upcoming phases will introduce expanded partnerships and enhanced functionalities, aligning with the GCAA’s broader vision of creating a fully integrated and digital aviation ecosystem.
“The launch of F.O.C.U.S. marks a pivotal milestone in our digital transformation journey. This platform is part of our broader vision to integrate federal and local aviation entities under one umbrella, making processes more agile and responsive to operators’ needs.”
Eng. Aqeel Al Zarouni, Assistant Director General for the Aviation Safety Affairs Sector, noted that F.O.C.U.S. marks a significant advancement in the way the GCAA engages with the aviation community.
He highlighted that the platform is designed to simplify compliance procedures, minimize processing times, and provide operators with streamlined access to the latest regulatory updates through a single, user-friendly interface.
This initiative also reinforces the GCAA’s strong commitment to the Zero Government Bureaucracy (ZGB) initiative, aiming to drive greater operational efficiency through streamlined and simplified processes.
