TIER, Germany-based leading shared micro-mobility provider, has further expanded its fleet in Bahrain following an agreement with the leading real-estate developer Diyar Al Muharraq.

The expansion is in line with TIER’s plan to reach a larger audience and support the demand for e-scooter services, aligning directly with Diyar Al Muharraq’s ambition to offer their residents and visitors a sustainable mode of transportation within their community.

The e-scooters will be available around different areas of interest in the community at various locations, so that they can easily be accessed by people in order to support their first-last mile journeys.

Since its launch in Bahrain in September 2021, TIER has seen an increase in the demand for shared micro-mobility services. In its future plans, the company is looking to deliver its latest generation of e-bikes to Manama in coming weeks, to further increase its offering to the residents of the city.

The Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) has been a key partner in bringing the two organizations together. EDB has proven to be a strong pillar in TIER’s efforts to grow its footprint in the country by enabling international companies to expand their business in Bahrain.

At its heart, the vision of Diyar’s Master Plan embraces a commitment to creating a fully-developed integrated city with a cohesive infrastructure that engenders wellness and promotes an active lifestyle in order to foster a healthy and thriving community. TIER supports this vision, wherein the e-scooters will give all residents and visitors increased accessibility and mobility, allowing them to commute with ease.

Mr. Amir Melad, General Manager, Middle East of TIER, commented, “We are pleased to further expand our fleet in Bahrain, the third country we entered into, in the Middle East. We’ve witnessed a positive response from residents across the country and will continue to further expand the fleet to meet our vision and goal to launch e-bikes by 2022. The e-bikes will provide our customers with an additional means of travel, allowing them to cover longer distances.

The TIER e-scooters can be accessed by downloading the app, finding an e-scooter on the virtual map, and unlocking it by scanning the QR code. People can use TIER’s hassle-free virtual parking system to finish the ride by simply finding a designated safe parking location and pressing the End Ride button.
