The French multinational retail corporation Carrefour operating in the UAE through the Majid Al Futtaim association has introduced a robot to deliver goods at its new location in Dubai International Financial Center(DIFC).

Customers of the DIFC Carrefour can now enjoy their shopping with the first automated click-and-collect self-service in the region. The new service distributes grocery orders with a robot as an alternative for online delivery.

The customers can place orders through the Carrefour app or website and opt to collect the order via self-service. After placing the order a QR Code will be provided to use at the click and collect center at Gate Avenue’s parking area to collect the ordered items.

The DIFC has dedicated a parking area near the robot to provide the customers with ease in parking and collecting items. The new service is completely contactless, refrigerated and one step beyond Carrefour expanding its robotic services.

By operating 24 hours a day the click and collect service can complete hundreds of orders in a day.

The CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Retail, Hani Weiss says, “We are excited to expand our offering and high-quality products to the DIFC community while introducing an innovation that will cater to the fast-paced lifestyle at one of the leading business hubs in Dubai.”

By adding Carrefour, the DIFC and Gate Avenue will become a hub of business, retail and lifestyle. 91% of DIFC’s retail space is filled with almost 300 leading lifestyle, art, fashion and food & beverage brands.
